Hi guys! Welcome Back! I hope you've all had a happy and healthy week!
I am thinking of starting a series of healthy food recipes called Foodie Fan Fridays. I am the ultimate foodie so I want to share some of my recipes with you! If you are interested please let me know in the comment box. :)
Today's recipe is CHICKEN AND VEGETABLE STIR FRY!
This lunch or dinner option is super simple, healthy, and SO delicious. It's an easy way to incorporate lean proteins, vegetables, and starch in one filling meal! Get your pots and pans ready and let's get started. :)
All you will need for this recipe is:
- Chicken Breast (you can easily skip this or switch it out for substitute meats to make this recipe vegetarian or vegan friendly!)
-Fresh or frozen vegetables of your choice. I used fresh broccoli and carrots!
-Whole Grain Brown Rice
-Soy Sauce
-Cooking oil
-Sea Salt and Pepper to taste, or any seasonings of your choice
-Two large sauce pans
-One pot
THE NATURALLYKBIGGIE WAY:
1. Chop your thawed chicken breast into small, thin slices. Place raw meat in a bowl and season with soy sauce, sea salt, and pepper.
2. Chop your veggies into thin chunks and lightly season with soy sauce.
2. Heat the two sauce pans on medium heat and lightly coat with extra virgin olive oil, or any oil of your choice.
3. In one pan, begin to cook your chicken breast thoroughly on both sides. DON'T OVER COOK!
4. In the other pan, after about 5 minutes, begin to saute your veggies.
*While both of these are lightly cooking, you can prepare your rice in the pot. I decided to use Boil-In-A-Bag rice because I'm a college student and I'm sure you all understand the struggle lol*
6. Once the chicken begins to brown on both sides, add it to the sauteed veggies and turn the heat down low. Continue to cook the chicken, broccoli, and carrots together on LOW heat for about 5 minutes. Stir occasionally.
7. Now it's ready to plate. I served my stir fry over the brown rice and it was SO yummy. I can officially say that I've prepared my first, full, "grown up" meal all by myself and it only took about 30 minutes. Here is the finished product! :)
I really hope you guys try out this recipe! If you do, PLEASE send me a picture on twitter @naturalkbiggie or hash tag it on Instagram #naturallykbiggie.
As always, I hope you all have a happy, healthy, and productive week ahead of you.
Don't forget to follow and comment your favorite quick dinner recipes so I can give them a try.
OH! There won't be a blogpost next Friday because I will be out of town on a leadership conference with my university! BUT, next Sunday is my 21st BIRTHDAY! I'll be back soon to share my experience, my wonderful birthday, and maybe some resume building tips as well. :)
Stay tuned. I love you guys!

Healthy Drink Options + Yummy Green Smoothie Recipe!
Hi guys! Happy Friday and Welcome Back. Today I want to share with you all TWO of my favorite healthy drinks and my all time favorite green smoothie recipe! By the way, I am in no way a dietitian or nutrition expert. These are just things that have helped me and I'd love to share them with you guys! Enjoy :)
1. Belly slimming DETOX WATER
Everybody is talking about it! Everyone is making it. Let's find out why.
First off, if you aren't necessarily fond of the taste of water this could be a great option for you. All you have to do is slice your favorite fruits and veggies, place them in your water, and let the mixture sit for a few hours. The water flushes your system of any harmful toxins and the fruits and veggies aid in this process!
THE NATURALLYKBIGGIE WAY :
My go to detox water consists of-
-1/2 sliced lemon
-1 sliced orange
-1/2 sliced pear or apple

2. TEA
Literally, my number one tip for feeling great is having a glass of green or ginger tea EVERY SINGLE DAY.
Green tea is full of amazing antioxidants! It is known to help you loose weight by boosting your metabolism. Ginger tea is my BEST FRIEND. I was first introduced to ginger tea in high school when I had horrible stomach pains. Let me tell you, nothing calms cramps, stomach aches, or abdominal discomfort like ginger tea does. I promise it won't let you down.
THE NATURALLYKBIGGIE WAY:
I try to drink my tea early in the day. I mix green and ginger tea together for an amazing concoction. To sweeten, I add honey and lemon!
3. GREEN SMOOTHIES
So this is rather new to my nutrition plan because I just got my first blender! Green smoothies are an easy and delicious way to incorporate fruits and green, leafy vegetables into your diet. They are great in the morning before a workout or right after to refuel your body!
THE NATURALLYKBIGGIE WAY:
I like to drink a green smoothie at least 3 times a week, right after my workout. Here is a recipe that I've recently been loving;
-tons and tons of organic spincach
-1/2 chopped orange
-1 whole banana (great to sweeten and cut the taste of the spinach)
-a handful of purple grapes
-any type of pressed mango juice (Naked, Bolthouse, etc.)
-about 4 ice cubes
And here is the finished product. WALA MAGIC :)
I hope you all have enjoyed reading about these three HEALTHY drink options. If you decide to make any of them, please tweet me a picture @naturalkbiggie or use the hashtag #naturallykbiggie on Instagram. Don't forget to follow my blog and comment your favorite healthy drinks!
Have an amazing week and I'll see you next Friday!

My FIRST EVER Length Check!! + Inversion Method
A RANDOM, SUNDAY HAIR BLOG.
Time to talk about one of my favorite subjects, NATURAL HAIR :)
A little about my hair: I have been natural since my junior year in high school, but even then I wore my hair straightened ALL THE TIME. When I came to college, I was exposed to so many beautiful, black women with kinks and curls. I wanted that! So I called my mom, took my weave out, and big chopped my hair. This is two years post my big chop!

Here is my very first length check!
FRONT/BANG SECTION: 7 1/4 inches
SIDE SECTION: RIGHT- 7 inches LEFT- 7 inches
BACK SECTION: RIGHT- 8 inches LEFT- 7 1/4 inches
TOP SECTION: 8 3/4 inches
I will be implementing the Inversion Method in my monthly regimen. For those who don't know the Inversion Method is performed for seven consecutive days, FOR ONLY ONE WEEK OF EACH MONTH. You basically heat up your favorite natural oil and thoroughly massage your scalp. Once the scalp massage is complete, you invert your body, either over your bed or just sitting in a chair, for exactly four minutes. After, you raise your body slowly and breathe deeply. This method has been known to promote ONE INCH OF HAIR GROWTH.
So who's with me? Comment your favorite natural or organic oil! I use my hair and body oil mix!
Happy Healthy Hair Journey!
I'll see you all on Friday :)

Get BACK In Gear For Spring Semester!
Welcome Back! Today is all about getting back in gear for spring semester and I'm here to give you 5 easy tips to help you knock this semester out of the park.
TIP #ONE: GET AND STAY ORGANIZED
Planners are your best friend. Here are a few tips to help you get the most use out of a planner.
*Find one you really, really like and customize. Don't be afraid to personalize it, after all, it is YOUR planner.
*Write down monthly goals, work schedule, exams, assignments, club meetings, and fitness goals.
*Cross things off as they are completed. (It's really a great feeling, try it!) :)
Here is my planner for 2015!
TIP #TWO: READ THE BOOK Y'ALL
This may sound silly, but it definitely needs to be said. College is a whole lot different than high school and times have changed! Lol. Do the reading assignment when it is assigned. You'll come into class the next day already knowing the material, ready to engage in the discussion.
TIP #THREE: MISS THAT PARTY, THERE WILL BE PLENTY OTHERS
This tip is rather simple! :)
TIP #FOUR: DON'T BE AFRAID TO GET HELP
It's your money, so if you are having trouble with the material, ASK QUESTIONS. Email your professor. Create a study group. See a tutor on campus. Use all of the resources around you. Take the initiative and do what you have to do to succeed!
TIP #FIVE: BREATHE
You will make it. I promise. Things get hard. Exam weeks are miserable. The material is difficult to understand. Take a moment. Listen to your favorite song. Do some yoga. Get some fresh air and BREATHE. You will get through this. Enjoy this experience while you can.
Comment some of your favorite college tips or tricks! Good luck on another semester and see you next Friday!
With love,
